Laser Cutter and Engraver made in the USA

There are many laser cutter and engraver companies that are scattered all over the world. Many of them are based in the United States, though some have all of their product designed and manufactured elsewhere.  These days, everything that we buy seems to come from just about anywhere in the world. According to Global Upside, 50% of all the world’s manufactured goods come from China (28.7%), the United States (16.8%), and Japan (7.5%). For the first time in history, we are experiencing a world-wide economy that helps and boosts countries everywhere. But there are distinct advantages to having a laser manufacturer based in the USA. As well as having a laser cutter and engraver machine made in the USA.  Keep reading to learn more about those advantages plus where we come from and who we are, as well as a little bit about our manufacturing and design that we do on site in the USA.

Advantages of Laser Cutters and Engravers in the USA

Full Spectrum Laser and a few other laser companies have their team of engineers, salespeople, marketers, technical support and operations personnel all working together in the USA and even better, at one specific location in the USA like our company does. We are proud to be an American company, based in sunny Las Vegas, Nevada. Having operations in one location in the USA is a big advantage as the design of all electronics, software and mechanical hardware are conducted in-house, resulting in the tightest alignment of functional disciplines.

Another advantage of having laser engineering and development in one location in the USA is the easier ability to design exclusive features. There are some things our laser machines can do that other laser cutters and engravers cannot because of this. Sometimes this exclusivity is in design decisions that the customer will never know because it is so integrated into the function of the machine. Other times, exclusive patents provide customer-favorite special features like the removable bottom on our Muse desktop lasers (US20160158888A1), the custom integrated RetinaEngrave v3.0 software, 3D Patents (US9574039B1, US10118341B1, US9944804B1) and other capabilities. Laser companies in the USA might own patents similar to these because they invent the technology that advances laser applications. These designs and patents are made possible because of the ability for engineers and designers to work closely with the technicians who assemble and manufacture the laser cutter and engraver components in one location within the USA.

More than that, having a laser cutter and engraver facility in the USA delivers advantages for customers. It allows the manufacturer to control and monitor the quality inspection process. It allows the stocking of spare parts for quick delivery. It allows the careful monitoring of technical support needs. It even enables customers to visit the showroom and take a facility tour. Most of all, it keeps the manufacturer close at hand for customer service, support and quality control.

Laser Cutter and Engraver Made in the USA: Muse Titan

We will refer to the Muse Titan desktop laser cutting and engraving machine as an example of our process. This process begins and ends in our facility in the USA before it gets sent to the customer.

What you see of the Muse Titan begins as a simple sheet of metal. Then, using a high powered laser cutting machine, we cut all the chassis components. These components range from the smallest intersecting beams to the larger lid and body.

Once the metal sheet has been cut and bent into the proper shapes, it gets sent to the next room to get powder coated. Once the powder coat is heated and cured at the proper temperature, it gets inspected to make sure that there are no imperfections in the coat. If imperfections are found, the piece gets recycled and another one is cut and the powder coating reapplied. The process will continue until it matches our quality standards.

After the individual components are completed, it gets sent into the assembly room where the entire machine gets put together. This will involve putting the recently powder-coated chassis together, and then assembling the gantry, and electronic components. To finish it off, the windows and Muse logo are cut out using another laser cutting machine, then installed.

When the Titan is completely assembled, it goes through a rigorous quality inspection to verify functionality. This includes alignment, test engraving, test cutting, power output, and more. Then once it meets our quality standards, it gets cleaned and packaged to be sent out to the customer.

This Muse Titan in the photos is one of our customized units for a customer. Because the entire process takes place on location, we have the ability to make customizations for the customers for things such as the paint color and window colors.
