Traveling Galvo Platform
6D SynchroScan
6D SynchroScan combines a 3-axis galvo with a 3-axis EtherCAT servo platform so the laser can process large work areas in one continuous move instead of stepping through stitched tiles.
The result is higher throughput, cleaner seams, and a motion stack that can scale from precision marking to large-format industrial workflows.
Why It Exists
Large-format galvo processing breaks when the motion stack is stitched together.
The old model
Traditional galvos are fast inside a small field, but they have to stop, reposition, and restart to cover larger parts. That creates idle time and visible stitch boundaries where adjacent fields overlap.
The 6D model
6D SynchroScan keeps the laser moving by letting servos handle macro travel while the galvo handles micro steering. The beam path and the machine path stay locked together in real time.
Architecture
3-axis gantry plus 3-axis galvo in one synchronized controller.
EtherCAT servos move the work envelope with deterministic industrial timing while XY2-100 galvo control handles the high-speed beam steering inside the active scan field.
Traveling Galvo
Built to eliminate stitch lines across larger work envelopes.
Mounting the galvo on a traveling stage turns a small optical field into a continuous processing path. Instead of scanning one square, indexing, and trying to blend the next one, the controller moves the machine while the galvo stays active.
Integrated Vision
Motion, laser, and vision operate as one closed-loop platform.
6D SynchroScan is designed around more than just motion. The system can use machine vision, autofocus, and 3D scanning to keep the beam aligned to real parts and real surfaces instead of relying on static setup assumptions.
Use Cases
One motion platform for precision industries that cannot tolerate stitching artifacts.
SynchroScan is useful anywhere a standard galvo field is too small but part quality, throughput, or registration still matter.
Semiconductor and microelectronics
Micro marking, depaneling, via work, and precision patterning where repeatability and small-feature control matter.
Medical devices
Marking or texturing on surgical tools, catheters, and complex metallic geometries without repeated indexing steps.
Automotive and aerospace
Large panels, components, and production parts that need consistent marks or textures over more than one galvo field.
Display and advanced materials
Glass, thin films, and other wide-area substrates where continuous toolpaths improve yield and finish quality.
