New Feature: Head Mounted and Overview Cameras for Gantry Lasers 📌 Sticky

Vision support on gantry systems in RE5 just got a major upgrade.

Two camera workflows are now supported on gantry lasers:

• Easy Overview USB / IP Camera — mount a single camera above the bed for a full-workspace view. Accuracy: under 1 mm.

• Head Mounted USB / IP Camera — mount a camera on the laser head and let RE5 stitch its frames into a high-resolution view of your material as the gantry moves. Accuracy: under 0.2 mm.

Both modes are paired with our best-in-class Fiducial Alignment and AI Whole Lens Distortion Correction, giving you edge-to-edge accuracy even on the cheaper USB cameras most gantry users already have.

Why it matters:

• Place your design on real material — no more guessing.
• Recover registration after re-loading a part: snap to fiducials and pick up exactly where you left off.
• Run a stitched head-mounted view across the whole bed without needing a telecentric or industrial coaxial setup.
